St. Ignatius School is more than an educational institution in Rwanda—it’s a beacon of hope and resilience. Established following the tragic 1994 genocide against the Tutsi, our steadfast mission is to foster reconciliation, facilitate reconstruction, and deliver a comprehensive education emphasizing academic excellence, spiritual development, leadership, and social responsibility. With the guiding principles of care, conscience, competence, compassion, and commitment, every student’s journey at St. Ignatius is transformative.
In a groundbreaking move, the Iriza Innovation Hub, owned by St Ignatius School entered into a collaboration agreement with Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science, a California-based private, nonprofit, student-centered university that is committed to cultivating diverse health professional leaders who are dedicated to social justice and health equity for underserved populations. This partnership is focused on advancing sports medicine and biomedical sciences in Rwanda, presenting numerous opportunities for students and the wider community.
The hub's mission is to provide students with access to quality education, mentorship, resources, and opportunities that can help them develop their skills, ideas, and networks.
The Innovation Program is the cornerstone of our efforts to inspire and equip the youth with the skills and mindset needed to tackle pressing global challenges. Our students will embark on an exciting journey, gaining hands-on experience in technology, design thinking, and entrepreneurship. Through our program, they'll learn to create solutions that matter.
The Iriza Innovation Hub promotes innovation and technology as drivers of economic growth and social development in Rwanda and Africa. It aims to leverage the opportunities of the Fourth Industrial Revolution to create positive social impact and address real-world challenges
Our innovation hub at St. Ignatius School in Kigali, Rwanda, strives to establish a cooperative network that includes partnerships with high schools and universities. We are focused on honing the talents and abilities of high school students, providing them with the necessary skills.
